Welcome to Literacy Musing Mondays April 24-29!
Last book: I’ve sort of binged on fiction in the past couple of weeks. I finished Divergent last night. My daughter asked to read it, and since I knew nothing about the series, I told her I needed to read it first. Glad I did because I don’t think some of it is appropriate for an almost 12-year-old. Honestly, a couple of the scenes could have been left out entirely. (A little too much teen affection for my taste.) God’s name was was thrown around a few times, too, which I don’t like. Anyway, I really did like the story. I may ask my daughter if she’d want me to read it aloud minus a couple of scenes. We’ll see. I probably need to do some research on the other books first, though, because I’m sure we will want to find out the rest of the story.
Right before that, I breezed through Head in the Clouds, A Sweet Misfortune: A Novel (Virtues and Vices of the Old West), Love Unexpected (Beacons of Hope).
Favorites: Y’all, it’s just about impossible to narrow down favorite books, but I will try to give 5 off the top of my head.
Tahn (And the other 2 books in the series.)
I’d love to know your answers! Please share in the comments. 🙂
