So, I'm back on Blogger. I tried to make the best of switching to Wordpress for a year, but in reality, I couldn't make enough money to sustain having a Wordpress.org blog.

Consequently, due to the switch back to Blogger from Wordpress, my "blog home" is in a state of disarray. The HTML didn't transfer very well from Wordpress to Blogger, so I'm slowly trying to go back and fix all of last year's posts the best that I can. I hate clutter and mess in real life and in virtual life! However, I'm not in a hurry at the moment.

After making the decision to close my Wordpress account, I decided to take some time off from blogging. It's been such a nice break after blogging for 12+ years! I'm not quite sure yet what my blogging plans are for the future, but currently I'm having some fun learning how to be a Pinterest affiliate. Not only do I enjoy it, but I've made more money pinning than I did writing. :)

I'm also focusing on some homeschool planning and, hopefully soon, some creative writing.

In a nutshell, I'm a desert-dwelling, homeschool mom who loves to devour fiction and chocolate. If you want to know more than that, feel free to keep on reading! ;)

I started my first blog (formerly known as Autumnfawn Lane) in February of 2006 mostly as a replacement for scrapbooking. Life just got too busy with three kids who were 6, 4, and 8 months at the time. Homeschooling, along with all of my other SAHM duties, took a huge chunk of my time, and I didn't have the energy to keep up with scrapbooking every picture and detail of our lives.

Even though I was a little leery of blogging my life on the internet, I loved the idea that I could virtually keep up with scrapbooking our lives without the constant mess of albums, paper, and stickers spread out all over my room. As a bonus, my AZ family would get to see pictures of the kids on a regular basis. (At the time our family lived in TN.)

I quickly found that blogging was much to my liking. Not only could I "scrapbook," but I could write about all sorts of other stuff, too. Blogging satisfied my intense passion for writing and also connected me with other moms all across the globe. It was fun making cyber friends and writing about all things mom life.

Little did I know that this blogging venture would lead me to become a member of the Schoolhouse Review Crew in which I have the privilege of reviewing on my blog all sorts of products, mostly those of which pertain to homeschooling in some way, shape, or form. (As of 2015, I am taking a break from reviewing for the Schoolhouse Review Crew.)

Though I LOVE writing, keeping up with all things techy is quite challenging for me and stretches me in ways I never thought possible. I've been trying to change and sort of update my blog all by myself this past year, so, well, all I can ask is that you bear with me as it will continue to be an ongoing project I am sure.

I've been married to my amazing, husband for 18 years, and we've been blessed with three awesome kids - 2 boys (16 and 14) and 1 girl (10). We've made our home in the hot, dry Arizona desert for the past 9 years, but before that I lived out my days as a southern girl near Memphis, TN for about 21 years.

I spend my days homeschooling my children, reviewing wonderful products, and carrying out the dozens of typical stay-at-home-mom tasks. On my blog I love to chronicle my family's life, store my thoughts, share my faith, reminisce days gone by, compile yummy recipes, reveal nifty tips, talk about topics relating to health, and write about all things homeschool. For fun I love to read fiction, take walks with my hubby, drink green tea Frappuccinos, and eat chocolate! :)

And as with everything in my life, including blogging, I do it all for the glory of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Thanks for stopping by!

* Recently, I published my first children's book on Amazon! Please take a moment and check it out.

Dear Brandi Raae,

I am a Paediatric Surgery Registrar in London, UK. I am writing the chapter of a book for Paediatric Surgeons on hernias, including epigastric hernias. I am looking for a photograph of a child with an epigastric hernia to include in the book. I was wondering if you'd be kind enough to permit me to use the photograph of your daughter posted on your blog. I can assure you that it will help other children like her in the future, through helping to train future surgeons. If you would consider this then I shall email you details of the book and myself and answer any questions that you have. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Kind regards, Dr Wright

Glad that you decided to continue blogging. I visit your blog often. I also had trouble with Wordpress, so I decided to use Google Blogger. I'm a blogging mom too, but my passion is photography.
