Tension grows thick between the millers and the weavers in the quaint English

If only Kate and Henry would stop running into each other. Chance meetings threaten to break down barriers and leave them questioning if things are really as they seem. Amidst unexpected tragedy, betrayal, truth, and lies, will Kate and Henry be able to come together to bring peace once and for all?

My Thoughts

I admit it. I totally judged this book by its cover. Beautiful, isn't it? Okay, so I judged it by the author, too. I've read several other books by Sarah E. Ladd and have loved them all. 

I'm such a sucker for regency romance. The Weaver's Daughter is set during the early Industrial Revolution and gives a glimpse into what life might have been like for a small village. It's a heartwarming story of two people fighting to preserve their families' legacies. 

Feisty Kate and noble Henry are characters hard not to love. I found myself empathetic toward both of their plights, yet longing for a way for both to win. There's just enough mystery and tension to keep the pages turning until the very end.

Birthstone Inspiration: May

For as long as I can remember, I've loved having a stone assigned to my birth month. Mine is aquamarine, and I'm currently in a loving-all-things-turquoise-and-aqua phase. 

May is right around the corner, and 90° temps are in the forecast in my desert land. Both my mom and brother have May birthdays. In fact they were born on the same day! Neat, huh?

When I see emerald, May's beautiful birthstone, I think of England and forests and dragons and all things Middle Earth. It's a color I associate with my love of all things fantasy! I also love to wear this shade of green since I think it goes so well with my skin tone, hair, and eyes.
