My middle son turned 16 this past January and is starting his first "real" job TODAY. I'm telling you, the time FLIES!!
It seems like yesterday that I was singing the "You Are My Sunshine" chorus to him
every. single. day. But instead of "dear" I'd sing his name - Lincoln.
It was our special song when he was little. :)
With his strawberry blond hair and bright blue eyes, it just fit. (Okay, I'm tearing up a bit here.) Goodness, sometimes I miss those sweet days.
And I just looked up the original lyrics. So, I truly had no idea that the song was about some woman who dumped her man. Go figure.
ANYWAY, seeing this lovely, hand-painted sign sparked those memories and lit up my mama's heart. If I could go back in time, I'd be buying this sign and putting it in my baby boy's nursery right now!
If you are a mama or know of a mama who sings this sweet song to her baby, hop on over to The Makers, a company who sells quality goods hand made by local artisans, to purchase this heartwarming sign. :)
