Home

Pin It Now! Very strange to call this place home. Feels different than when I used to just visit. EVERYTHING is different, and I feel like everybody knows that I am a hick from the South. Not that I have spoken to anyone or anything. I spent the last month totally excited and adrenaline pumping non stop! That has all come to a halt. I am not having second thoughts, but it's just that I have entered the unfun stage--trying to unpack, getting the kids used to all the new stuff, etc...
I actually got teary yesterday as I walked out the front door. I miss my neighbors already. I miss the kids playing with their friends, and maybe even the guy who asked me every single day where I was moving. I am terribly missing the familiarity. :(
I wish I could post pictures but our computer is still packed.
I miss everyone!!

I can certainly understand those feelings, as I had them all myself 22 years ago! Moved out here to OK, 500 miles from all my family and friends, knowing only about 5 people here, and they were only acquaintances, not close friends. I'd go to the laundry mat down the street and sit there while my clothes washed writing letters home (way before computers were everywhere!) and crying as I wrote! I'd check the mailbox every day for a letter from someone. I made Maw Bell rich calling home every day. Lonely was an understatement! However, as time went by, I made new (& wonderful) friends, learned my way around, found a wonderful church, a job I enjoyed and soon, this was "home" and I actually enjoyed being here more than there. Missing the family doesn't change, but not feeling "at home" does. My thoughts are with you. I know things will get better and you'll find yourself comfortable and happy before long! Hang in there.
