Farmhouse Style Patriotic Decor & Party Supplies

Pin It Now!

I admit that I don't go all out in the decor department for Fourth of July. I do love to make fun food, though! These are the cupcakes I made last year. I LOVE how they turned out! So fun. :)

Anyway, I really would like to have a few items on hand to make my home a little festive for the patriotic holidays. I think red, white, and blue are such classy colors! Here are some of my favorites from Etsy.

Most of these would be great for Fourth of July, Memorial Day, or any other patriotic holiday you want to celebrate!

Celebrating July 4th

When I think of July 4th, I think of freedom, fireworks, and fun food. My favorite thing about all holidays are the traditions they inspire. We don't have a lot for this particular holiday, but we do have a couple.

Patriotic Watermelon "Cake"

Pin It Now!

Red, white, and blue desserts are so fun to make for patriotic celebrations! If you're trying to aim for something a little healthier this year, try making a Patriotic Watermelon "Cake!"

You only need 4 ingredients:
  • 1 large, ripe watermelon
  • Fresh blueberries
  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Powdered sugar (to sweeten the heavy whipping cream if you wish)
* If you are a Cool Whip kind of person, you can skip making your own whipped cream. Personally, I don't like the taste or the ingredients of Cool Whip, so I take the extra time to whip the heavy cream and a little powdered sugar on high with an electric mixer until I reach desired stiffness.

Directions:

(Even though the picture shows only half the "cake" covered in blueberries, the intent is to cover the entire surface. Or, you could make a flag instead by frosting whipped cream stripes across the watermelon and keeping the blueberries in the upper left hand corner. However, each piece, once it is cut, won't look as pretty or taste as yummy without the blueberries.)

Don't let your leftover watermelon, whipped cream, and blueberries go to waste! If you have a star cookie cutter, use it to cut shapes out of the leftover watermelon. Add a dollop of whipped cream to each star, then top each star with a blueberry. Makes for some fun, festive 4th of July finger foods.

Red, White, & Blue Breakfast Sundae

Pin It Now!

Here's a super easy 4th of July breakfast idea ~ Red, White, & Blue Breakfast Sundaes!

Ingredients
  • Oatmeal
  • Strawberries & Raspberries
  • Bananas
  • Blueberries
Directions

Make oatmeal according to directions or according to your personal preference. I used regular, old-fashioned oatmeal and cooked it on the stove. I added butter, milk, and brown sugar before spooning it into sundae glasses. Fill sundae glasses or containers of choice about 1/2 full of oatmeal. Add sliced strawberries and/or raspberries, banana slices, and blueberries on top. And there you have it, an easy 4th of July breakfast! Whipped cream would make a nice touch, but I didn't have any. :(

July Fourth Pool Party

Pin It Now! We all went to my brother's house to hang out, but poor Ryan was sick. So this is Shiloh and Kenneth.

Shiloh couldn't wait to get in the pool, and she didn't understand why we couldn't let go of her. She had this really cool bicycle move that made us all laugh!

Lincoln was doing a super job swimming, and Mullin was such a fish he wouldn't stay still long enough for me to get a decent picture of him. Later that evening Mark, Mullin and I watched fireworks right from our own backyard.
