Homemade Nativity Set

Pin It Now! A few years ago my kids' great grandma (Hubby's grandma) sent them a manger play set.
What makes it so special is that she made it. And they can actually play with it!!!

There are so many "no touch" Christmas decorations, so it is nice for them to be able to touch and set up this Nativity scene over and over again. In fact, I have an entire basket filled with touchable Christmas toys right behind Shiloh in this picture. Stuffed snowmen, Santa hats, an old-timey looking Santa, Rudolph and his gang finger puppets, just to name a few of the items in the basket.

And last but not least Shiloh finally places baby Jesus in the feeding trough.
Thank you, Grandma, for the manger set, and thank you all who have contributed to our special Christmas toy basket!!!

I have given up on trying to keep the lower half of my Christmas tree in tact. It just doesn't make sense to me to spend the holidays yelling at the children to stop touching all the fun decorations. But, the upper half of my tree is pristine! We also have a 'play' nativity for tactile learning.

Ah, yes...the "see, touch & do" items are the best! Always loved that Nativity set. And always appreciated that Grandma had a "kid-friendly" house & allowed them to touch things! She is a "Great Grandma", indeed! :-)

Now how 'bout that Barbie furniture...oh yeah..THAT is one of her most unique "touch me" toy sets!!! What a treasure!
