WFMW: Scrub-a-dub-dub, kid cleans the tub...

Pin It Now!

Here is a fun way to get kid tub-cleaning help with no worries of toxic fumes or harmful chemicals making contact with skin.

Cut a lemon in half and pour on the baking soda, then set your kids to work! :) (Actually my son volunteered for this chore one day this past summer.) I saw this idea at http://www.mambosprouts.com/ ,one of my favorite health sites.

Even though lemons are non-toxic, we all know lemon in the eyes will BURN, so make sure kids wash hands when they are done!

**I know this has nothing to do with this week's theme of organization, but I just couldn't get organized enough to do a post on it. :( I really am a pretty organized person, but just not today.

Now just look at that sparkly, white tub! Good job, Lincoln! And thanks for helping Mom. :)

Congrats Duggars!

Pin It Now! Dear Michelle Duggar,

I just wanted to say congratulations to you and your precious family!! I must admit, when my husband texted me the news that you were expecting your 19th baby, my jaw dropped. I seriously cannot imagine being pregnant that many times, and raising that many children. The thought of what laundry, cooking, and cleaning must be like is completely overwhelming!!! And oh, the noise-- yikes!! I seem to be quite content raising and home schooling the three with which I have been blessed.

I love seeing your glowing face and listening to you all share your faith on your show. The way you live and trust God's plan and provision for your family is truly an inspiration. What great role models all of you are!! May you be blessed with a healthy pregnancy and delivery. Oh, and I really like the name, Jaeda, if it's a girl. :)

Future Starbucks Employee

Pin It Now!

2009-08-27 002

Every time I see my son making coffee for his dad, I can’t help but get a picture in my mind of Uncle Vernon’s purplish, bout-to-explode, walrus face bellowing, “Bring me my coffee, boy!” to poor, sweet, innocent, parentless Harry Potter.

Well, we certainly don’t force Mullin to meet our every desire, nor do we treat him like a common house elf around here, but he actually loves performing this act of service for his coffee lovin’ daddy!

Hmmm, ya never know, he could be getting paid to do this before long. Do I see some Green Tea Fraps on the house in the near future?! Wonder if Starbucks hosts field trips for home schooled kids? Guess I could check into that…

Clear Remedy Review #2

Pin It Now!

acne_trymekit_list

Well, I have been using Clear Remedy for about a month now, which means this 3-step acne treatment system has just gone through its greatest challenge: the PMS stage. Hate to be so up front, but truth is, I really do believe that so many of my life issues, including my skin, are due to the rise and fall of progesterone and estrogen in my body, and unfortunately my hormones put up a huge fight this month.

2009-08-18 003

I took this picture right in the midst of the battle. It seems that just one side of my face was breaking out, and I even got a zit on my nose, which hasn’t happened in ages! I admit, I was tempted to switch back to ProActiv, but I did stick with Clear Remedy.

I don’t think Clear Remedy is entirely to blame or even to blame at all. I always experience a huge amount of stress in August due to the return of a home school routine, so I am sure that had something to do with breaking out more than usual. Also, insomnia struck this month. Throw in a cold coming on, and that just makes for a disastrous complexion!

I think it’s important to note, that as of right now, my face has calmed down and is pretty much back to what I want to be “normal”. No lasting damage, and overall my skin has a nice, even tone.

Before I end this review, I would like to point out 2 Clear Remedy positives. One, I like the fact that the acne treatment lotion doesn’t bleach fabrics!! I found this out by accidentally squirting some on a dark colored shirt. Two, Clear Remedy isn’t harsh on my skin. I haven’t experienced dryness that can be so common when using products designed for acne prone skin.

Barbie House--Sort Of

Pin It Now!
Since Shiloh's diaper changing table didn't sell in 2 garage sales, I decided to put it back into her room as a barbie house. I say that lightly because I haven't done a thing to it except arrange the barbie furniture that Shiloh's great grandma made. Shiloh likes it, though, and that is all that matters! :)

I am not sure what exactly it is that I would like to do to it. I do have some ideas: maybe stick some wallpaper on the shelves, somehow attach curtains so they can be opened and closed?? Anyone have any ideas? CHEAP ideas for someone who has very little cash and very little experience in craftiness?? Hopefully some ideas that don't involve any tools, unless maybe a screw driver?? I am so not a tool kind of gal. :)

Seriously, I would love some ideas, so please share!
