When our family moved to the desert 7 years ago, I had to learn how to make my husband's FAVORITE Christmas breakfast dish: Monkey Bread. His grandma made it every single Christmas morning, and oh, it's so yummy!
Monkey Bread
- 4 cans of biscuits (10 per can & just the plain kind)
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
Just
before baking, cut biscuits into 4 pieces. Dip in sugar and cinnamon
mixture. layer biscuits in a tube cake pan. Combine 1 cup brown sugar and
1 stick of butter. Bring to a boil . Boil about 1 to 2
minutes. Pour over biscuits and bake at 350° for 35 min. Let stand in pan
for 10 minutes before turning onto a plate.
*The
cheap biscuits do better than the flaky kind.
*I usually bake for only 30 min. but keep an eye on the Monkey Bread while it's baking.
Here's the kind of pan I use. Nonstick is a must for this recipe!
