Literacy Musing Mondays ~ Christmas Fantasy Novel: Kringle

Pin It Now!

Good Monday morning! Hope everyone had a delicious and restful Thanksgiving. :)

As November fades to December and houses glitter and sparkle with holiday decor, I have the perfect Christmas read-aloud for you and your kids to enjoy around the hearth! Tony Abbott's Kringle brims with all of the wonderful elements that capture fantasy lovers' hearts. Dwarves, goblins, elves, flying reindeer, and all things good vs. evil abound.

Young Kringle begins as an orphan during a horribly dark time when goblins kidnapped children and forced them to work the mines below ground. With the help of little elves, Kringle fulfills his destiny to free the children and rid the world of evil.
I read Kringle aloud to my children a few Decembers ago when they were 13, 10, and 7. We all LOVED it! Children ages 8-14, give or take a few years, could very well read Kringle on their own. It's the sort of book that begs for a warm blanket and some rich hot cocoa to ward of the icy chill that seeps into the very depths of your soul.

 ENJOY!

My Favorite Post of the Week

by  Nicole at Courage. Hope. Love

FOLLOW was God's word to me a few years ago. It was a reminder to keep following and trusting the Lord. And a great reminder it was since the path set before me wasn't easy for the next couple of years after that. Check out Nicole's post as she shares practical ways in which we can let go of comfort, selfishness, and brokenness in order to wholly follow Christ.
